We have arrived safely despite all the traffic and had a good walk on the first day with some brilliant views. Yesterday was spent mountain biking and trampolining.
The Explorers spent the day in the canoes whilst the Scouts spent the morning playing some games on site and the afternoon in Hay-on-Wye. In the evening we held the annual patrol meal challenge. The patrols had a challenging budget with which to cook a 3 course meal for themselves and their selected leaders. As usual we were impressed with both the complexity and quality of the meals cooked! Well done to all the kids!
The Explorers had their turn at the high ropes and rafting whilst the scouts completed the Brecon Beacon walk in what was, unfortunately, rather more miserable weather than the start of the week
Today the explorers had a long and challenging walk on the Brecon Beacons, made even more challenging by the warm weather. Luckily there were some very rewarding views to make up for it. The Scouts had a shorter walk by the river, taking in some impressive waterfalls.
There was a short walk back from Hay on Wye today, with the other half of the day spent preparing some rafts for later in the week and going down the water slide.
